Part TWO to the Missionary Position!
We have Tracy Butcher, our little east coast baby, on the podcast this week to talk about her and Megan's experiences at Teen Missions International.

The Missionary Position : Pt 1

Kayte & Megan dive in to discuss short-term and long-term overseas missionary work, the influences of white saviourism & cultural imperialism, the movie Silence (2016), and what we see as the main problems with missionary work. Then we hear from Mike & Amanda of Lehigh Acres FL, two former missionaries who still believe in the importance and goodness of missionary work. Lastly, Megan & Kayte give their personal experiences and thoughts.

Megan & Kayte sit down with Ocie and Dino to discuss their trans journeys, when they realized their gender identity didn't match their biology, seeking gender-affirming care, and how they navigated the reactions from their churches and families.

Kayte and Megan relate an anecdote about the hottest birthday party of the year, and then move on to talk about the identities and struggles of trans people in the church and in the world at large, feminine vs. masculine personality traits, why the church cares so much, and what does one DO with transphobes nowadays? And at the end, I co-opt a quote from Ronny R, just to prove a point. My parents are both thrilled and apprehensive.
